I have been watching the news since warning let out on Sunday. I watched people in front of the camera claiming to be "devout Christians," while uttering phrases like, "Its about time God did away with the awful scum in that city

i definitely should turn this into a journal entry! i can't believe that people would condemn and entire city full of people because a couple of days out of the year get crazy. like that doesnt happen in mobile around the same time of the year. besides, there are (were?) a whole lot of churches in new orleans that people regularly attend and i hate it when people are so hypocritical and think they're so much better than everyone else, when really all they're doing is showing themselves to be that much more ignorant. doesnt the bible teach something about loving everyone and doesnt it say that only god has the right to judge? to me, hypocrits are worse than the people so many "devout christians" condemn. most of the condemned actually can't help the things they do, like addicts or gay people (for more views on that, go read daniel's journal... desultoryllamas - it's quite interesting). anyway, i'm beginning to rant in a comment on my own journal. maybe i should just make another entry tomorrow when it's NOT almost midnight

Both of you are right, and any good Christian SHOULD admit to that, however...
It's so much easier for people to be vengeful or judgmental than to be understanding of people they don't agree with. When considering the teachings of Christianity, both revenge and judgment are not things that are holy in God's eyes, but many people either overlook or ignore this when they feel strongly enough about something. There will always be those, including Christians, who aren't accepting of others' idiosyncracies. I can't expect everyone to be perfect, but, come on society, we're all here together and there's no reason we should discriminate out of convenience or social pressures. Oh well, I live in an idealized world I suppose.
Oh sorry, this is Daniel James. Probably should have said that sooner, haha.
yeah, i knew it was you because matt freaked out and told me i HAD to read your journal entry about a week ago. i think i'll add you to my friends list

I didn't call you a bitch, did I... you know if I said it it wasn't in seriousness or anything. Anywho... yeah, all the fags, and all the fag lovers for that matter, are going to burn in hell... didn't you know that? Gosh, let God into your life, Becky!
And for anyone who just read that and thinks I was serious, I was being sarcastic in reference to the article posted above.
