This journal is largely becoming a journal where I just rant about the stuff I hate. Well here's another one for the trip: The consideration of the Australian government to introduce mandatory citizenship tests.What the flying f**k? Why are we even considering it? "Private Practice" looks so crap though, from the bits we've seen in 3x22 and 3x23. Not that I don't love Kate Walsh, but the new series looks so meh.

A more coherent response on the ridiculousness of citizenship tests as a test of national pride when I am not in a lecture =)

Oh right! You became one of those laptop toting people =) If you're playing pinball on it during the lecture, I just might have to come down there and pinch you on behalf of all the people who get distracted by people playing games on their laptops during lectures.

And I love the spin-off! It was a total dud idea to splice it into a Grey's ep because the two styles completely conflicted with each other and left PP looking like it was some little lost show intruding into Grey's. I think it stands a lot better on its own.

I so thought it was going to be Ignacio because come on, that previous episode with the talk of 'revenge' totally set it up. And I still think he's going to die anyway, just sometime next season.
I love how Henry moves like a jerky robot and always seems so lost. He's adorable!

The first question on the citizenship test is:

o1. The White Australia Policy IS...
(a) An immigration policy from Australia's history (more specifically, 1901 to 1973) which curtailed non-white immigration.
(b) A kind of white chocolate.
(c) Extremely racist.
(d) Sorely missed.

Our history teacher told us once about how because it was based on how 'smart' you are, they would give it in different languages and this one guy from overseas was an absolute brain and knew something like ten languages. So he did it the first time round in like, French, and got it right. Then he did the next part in Italian or something, and got that right too. Then after another round or so, they asked him what language he didn't know and then they gave the test to him in that language and he failed.
Since I don't know the structure of the tests they gave back then, I don't know if its true but Mrs Young never lied!
