Don't Vote: It Just Encourages ThemthehereticSeptember 9 2008, 01:29:42 UTC
Anyone participating in Democracy deserves the blame for what happens. Besides, I'm in a Democrat-controlled state that's Winner Take All in its elections. Any vote I give is a waste of my time because all the demoncrats will overturn it.
Also, my ancestors were screwed over in the Whiskey Rebellion. I consider my constitutional rights violated 190 years ago. :PP

Ha! So the Orange Co. contingent has been completely written off? MD is completely and predicatably Democratic, but of course we don't have much stature in the shape of things. It's my Virginia neighbors I'm targeting.
You've got history in PA, I take it. Didn't the calming presence of war-hero Washington take the fight out of it all? I've got so many die-hard Confederates in my heritage that I feel an icy chill upon my spine whenever I say it was ultimately good that the south lost. But as much as I shake my head over Palin, I consider the Alaska secessionist affiliation the least of her transgressions. I don't recall anyone ever actually relinquishing the right to secede.
Close Your Eyes. Grit Your Teeth. Vote. Then Wash Your Hands and Go Reward Yourself With Some Woodford Reserve On the Rocks.

I gave up alcohol. And caffiene. It was messing with my blood sugars too much.
Yes, I have history back to Jamestown and the Plymouth Colony. And my mom was born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley, and her mom in the Appalachians further west near Kentucky and W.Va. I look at my family history in this continent and nation as a series of insults and gross violations against me and mine by the current powers that be. Despite that, we fought in its wars, suffered under its dictators (Andrew Jackson, FDR, Kennedy, Clinton) and wished for release but instead endured. We endure. That's what you have to do if you wanna tough it out and live on. We'd all do well to recall that.

Gotcha on the drugs. Sometime you should send me some surnames from Shenandoah, since between that and the Cherokee connection, I'm guessing we're related somehow, Don't get me wrong - I'm cynical of all pols, but with the Patriot Act/FISA/Fannie&Freddie buyouts/etc., I'm not buying the Republican = less government argument. I'm also eyeing the Supreme Court, since the four oldest justices are the liberal ones, and that is exaclty the kind of stuff that sets the stage for the rest of my life.
Love the bike. Just checked it out. Having two LEDs & a mirror is certainly a great call. I'm in the market as well, but since I'm in the city I guess I'll be wanting something to haul cargo from the markets/garden.
