I WANT ALL THE STEFAN ICONS, GIFS, EVERYTHING
I NOW UNDERSTAND WHY KATHERINE HAD TO LOVE THEM BOTH
+ Tyler is on board with prank night for Caroline. HE HAS OFFICIALLY BECOME AWESOME. Well, he had when he outed himself to his mom to save Care, but he's officially still on the awesome train with this one. I'm seriously falling in love with this kid.
+ Caroline is perfect, 'nuff said.
+ Damon rejecting Katherine! And multiple times! Yeaaaaaah bo-yy! (I dunno how to write that so it comes out sounding like I thought it...) YOU GO SIR. Except I'm conflicted. Part of me is like YES YOU ARE NOW COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY HEALED FOREVER. This is not true. However, Damon rejecting Katherine is a HUGE and AWESOME step towards him becoming whole and learning how to live a healthy life. We all know how I feel about Delena (and boy will we talk about them in a minute), but this is the first step in him being able to love Elena in a good and healthy way and towards him loving her at all since I maintain that he at present doesn't.
Here comes my confliction though. Should it really be that easy for him to get over her? He followed her ghost around for 145 years and in the past, I dunno, six months (?) he's gotten over all that. She "just doesn't do it for [him] anymore." O_o Also, I want this Delenaness that seems inevitable to be as messy as possible. Not only because I don't want Delena, but because the messier it is, the more fun it is to watch.
Of course, he could just be transferring his Katherine affections onto Elena (like, even more so than he has to be because they're, ya know, identical) and so he actually isn't over Katherine. That would be way interesting. I hope the show goes there.
And he was seriously so hot when he said "Something like that." HOLY CRAP. It's really warm in here.
The power play! Damon wins SO MANY TIMES this episode. Lovely. And he doesn't take her sass anymore, just shuts her up and gets his phone back.
+ I am starting to really like Klaus. Poor lonely kid.
Also, "Attention seniors, you have officially been busted! Prank night is over, head on home!" sounding just like a game show host. <3
And using Tyler was really smart.
"I invited him to the party, love, he's the one dancing on the table." GAH KLAUS YOU ARE TOO CLEVER.
And I love him with Rebekah. They are the best brother/sister pair EVER.
+ I haz a theory: The Original Witch was the Original Doppelganger and Rebekah was friends with her. I also think Klaus was in love with her and somehow their relationship broke, she became a woman scorned and cursed him. The first part of that has been pretty much assumed by all as has the part about Klaus (plus Elijah) loving her, but I'm seriously thinking this girl and Rebekah were besties. It explains why Rebekah insulted Elena by calling the Original Doppelganger prettier and also why Rebekah is SO FREAKING UPSET over losing the necklace. It's not just "leverage" see what i did there over Klaus, it has sentimental value. I want to write fic about what happened between the three (or four) of them soooooooooooo badly.
+ "Don't fall asleep, Jer, you might have a concussion." Damon cares about Jeremy in the most adorable way possible!!!! <3<3<3 He calls him "Jer!" Just like he calls Stefan "Stef!" Obviously, Damon is Jeremy's big brother.
+ I never really felt the Matt and Bonnie scenes, but I liked the reality check. And I admired Matt's attempt to play "normal."
+ Elena always paces when she's freaking out. I really, really appreciate Nina's acting--and her distinguishing characteristics between Elena and Katherine. Girl is good.
Welcome to reality, little girl. I pray it doesn't break you.
+ Michael. Huh, okay. Dunno how they're gonna make him more epic than Klaus.
+ When Damon talked to Elena and promised never to leave her again, he wasn't, as seems to be the popular belief already, saying "Look how much better I am than Stefan--he left, I won't." He was acknowledging that he'd made a mistake and promising not to make it again. It was all a reflection on him, it had nothing to do with Stefan. Yes, Stefan left, but Damon is more aware than anyone of why and doesn't fault him or judge him for it and would certainly not use that to get Elena (anymore than using his absence anyway, which is different than making Stefan the bad guy for leaving). Damon offering to compel Elena to forget is actually a move on Stefan's behalf. He isn't offering just to make Elena feel better, but also to salvage what Stefan has with her because he knows (especially in light of what happened last episode) how detrimental tonight is going to be to their relationship. Giving her necklace back is the same thing--that's a move for Stefan as much as it is for Elena. I love this kid.
(On an Elena note: "Where were you, Damon?" MY HEART ACHES FOR YOU TOO BABY GIRL FOR THE FIRST TIME)
And he's mourning his brother, too.
+ Stefan is having the most awful of days. :(((((((
The vampire-fight with Rebekah = gorgeous. He goes after her knowing he can't win. And this is only the START!
His poker face is finally an epic fail when he tries to convince Klaus that Elena means nothing to him, but Elena almost believes it anyway? What, girl, what? HE CAN'T REFUSE ELENA AND THEN HE GOES AFTER KLAUS KNOWING HE CAN'T WIN WHEN KLAUS HITS HER. LOVE LOVE LOVE FOR THIS BOY. And then he is compelled! I wish I could show you my face right now because it is HEARTBREAK ALL OVER.
He keeps repeating that he won't be able to stop--he's so stuck on this, he can't bear the thought so of course he can't think of anything else. And he tries, in his panic, to reality check Elena, but the girl's just not getting it. (On an Elena note: I LOVE how fiesty she gets here. Her face, her voice, she is so passionate. Good for you, girly.) And wow but he loves her so much.
He fights. He fights so hard. He even incapacitates himself. (Another Elena note: Her "I love you" was everything I love about them.)
"NO!" MY HEART MY HEART MY HEART. MY HEART IS DYING
And then switch off. And "I fixed him." Klaus honestly think he's helping Stefan. And he does exactly what Season 1!Damon would have done had he been able. Klaus really loves Stefan. I just--whoa. Klaus is serious about his brothers.
Paul is the hottest ripper in the world. O.O And his acting--there is no praise high enough. #all the awards
Whoa feelingsless Stefan in the house! I am SO looking forward to this. What a season 1 reversal. Can't wait to see how the brothers interact.
Another theory: Stefan is faking (he finally learned how to lie and pretending to be compelled is an EXCELLENT way to fool Klaus especially since Klaus knows he is vervainless). Of course, this means he has to fake it HARD so we will still be seeing some super Ripper behavior in the future. And maybe he's not completely faking, but partially and fighting really hard somewhere deep.
+ tl;dr: I am a Damon girl and now I am a Stefan girl too. It's not that I haven't always loved Stef dearly, but tonight was like having an anvil of ~FEELINGS for him dropped on me. So I will now marry whichever Salvatore asks me first. XP way to separate fantasy from reality, Ky
