I'm tired of having to title things--it requires too much thought
So I've come to the conclusion that the only ways--at least for me--to watch TVD are to ship everything or nothing at all and just appreciate each individual character for what he/she is.
I think I'm leaning more toward nothing. Just forget it. (Except Damon/Rose because--jeez--they can't hurt me any more than they already have, right? Oh, maybe there's a third way: ship only the things definitely and completely doomed and done, by which I mean half of it is dead. So, Tyler, you can go ahead and die now so I can ship you and Caroline. Rebekah, you have to go too.)
Also, I just realized that everything I loved about last night's episode because I feel it saved Stelena (#will use ship names without shame) may have killed Stefan as a character. Not cool, TVD writers, not cool. I'm sure you can see how this contributed to the above decision, even though it's seriously backwards now that I think about it--shouldn't I be clinging to the ship to avoid the pain of Stefan's character assassination (where is the ripperrrrrrrrrrr--I really did want them to take this to the edge and now it seems they can't but maybe they still will--oh dear really the only way to truly appreciate this show is in hindsight and that's a long ways away from now)?
Actually, in light of everything, I think I'll just take what I can get and appreciate what I'm given. Hm. That even sounds kind of, dare I say, healthy.
But the more I think about it, the more I don't come to any conclusion at all on my shipping/not shipping dilemma. I really needed more than three hours of sleep last night. Sorry guys, feel free to ignore me.
Mercy me this show should not give me so many crises.
EDIT: YA KNOW WHAT???? I AM GOING TO LOVE THIS LATEST EPISODE BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT MAKES ME HAPPY. FORGET BEING BUMMED ABOUT RIPPER!STEFAN NOT REALLY HAPPENING IN ANY TRUE CAPACITY. GIVE ME THE AWESOME STEFAN BEING BAMF ENOUGH TO RESIST BLOOD AND COMPULSION BECAUSE HE LOVES ELENA. (even though he eventually loses to both--I love tragic, I can do tragic)
