Kyuu's Fundamental Rule #10

Self-absorbtion and Possession Dissolution

By my very flawed nature, I am very self-absorbed. Coupled with that, I have placed possessions of importance as well. This is for me to blame upon myself for becoming like this.

So, in this, I declare myself (and my possessions) unimportant. So, I have these orders:
  1. Losses to be handled graciously.
  2. Services by me are offered - even when requested.
  3. Duties to be fullfilled. As a corrolary, these duties are to be examined later.
  4. Possessions are allowed. However, they are not prioritized.
As a note, possessions allow a more comfortable living; but it is very very possible to live without them. Furthermore, additional orders in this rule can be added; as long as they are in relation to the main rule: Reduction of Self-Importance.

This entry is in compliance with the Fifth Commandment and yesterday's sermon citing Ephesians 4:25-32 and Matthew 5:21-26. The lesson basically requires to place others before oneself. Self-importance is the root of murder. That cannot be permitted.

Reading into Ecclesiastes, King David questions the importance of Earthly things within the first 4 chapters. Then he states that many earthly things are meaningless. Riches, Pleasure, Wisdom, Advancement, Toil, and even Folly. Nevertheless, we are to appreciate God's gifts.

COMMENT: This will be one very difficult rule to maintain - due to my long history of being self-absorbed.
