WOW

Okay, it's time for a moment of truth. I've been playing WOW for a couple of months, and I didn't tell Vicki (or anyone else for that matter) because I'd put off getting hooked for so long I was beginning to feel superior or something. Todd finally drew me in with the "please, it'll be fun for me to tutor you for an hour or so, you don't have to ( Read more... )

a guild is a shopping experience. I'm still with my original guild because I like them, but that didn't stop me shopping around a little while ago when I felt like my needs weren't being met.

I think the best way is to look at the people who've helped you out, or that you've enjoyed playing with; ask them about their guild and what they think about it. Most people will give you honest feedback without trying to Recruit You, unless it's an officer then maybe they're a little more dicey.

You should avoid any guild that advertises their recruitment in city chat...they're just looking for warm bodies and aren't likely to be much good. You can look on the WoW forums too, though I don't have much experience with that so I can't speak to its efficacy.

Ryan mentioned how funny it was that we both couldn't stomach the undead - I too liked trying everything and anything but everytime I even *looked* at my undead I got a blinding headache between my eyes. What's strange is that when I'm playing horde I don't in the least mind *other people* playing undead, or playing with them myself, in groups. But I just recoiled trying to think of that rotting skeletal thing as me!
