I didn't know you in the 'olden days' since I'm relatively new to the fandom, but I've been around LJ forever. I've loved your fics and read most (all?) of them.
I can feel your pain, since I dealt with my mother's extended decline a few years ago. As the only child within 500 miles, all the day-to-day decisions fell to me. Believe me, I appreciate how all consuming it is to keep a job and deal with not only your own well-being, but your folks as well.
AO3 is a wonderful resource, but there's also quite a bit going on here still. The second ACD Fanworks exchange just ended, the Come at Once challenge finished a month or so ago and so on. You will still find an appreciative audience for 'classic' H/W if you feel the urge to start writing again, or if Sherlock calls to you, there's a lot of interest there. So, welcome back, whenever you're ready!
Thank you so much. I think just about all of my fics are here on my LJ (there's one Criminal Minds fic archived somewhere else that I really need to link here). AO3 is great, especially as an archiving source. I'll work on getting all my stuff posted over there too, which may be easier to track
( ... )
Well, hello there! I've missed you so, and am so glad to hear from you!
*hugs*
Glad to hear all is mostly well, and that you didn't actually fall off the face of the earth. I miss the camaraderie, too, and I miss my friends. Where did everyone go? Dreamwidth? Tumblr? Some secret hangar where the cool people hang out?
Anyway... glad you're back. We'll always have dinner at The Echo.
Hello! I've missed you too! Where has the time gone? It sometimes feels like everything is just speeding by.
I definitely miss the old LJ sense of community and I have no idea where everyone went. I think people are just more spread out in other platforms, including the ones you list. And I'm sure that there is some super secret site that is just about the coolest thing ever... until the next super secret site comes along.
I'm living in Fresno now (did I ever tell you that?). It's... a bit different from L.A., but all in all life is okay, as I indicated. I have no idea where I'll end up from here. If you are ever coming up here, let me know (or, more realistically, if you are ever thinking of going to Yosemite, let me know - there really isn't much reason to visit Fresno that I can think of, except that it is on the way to Yosemite).
And The Echo was awesome.
Hope you are doing well and taking care of yourself. *hugs*
Yeah, LJ is quite quiet nowadays which is a shame. Like you, I've been slowly transferring fics over to AO3 when I have a little downtime (which hasn't been much).
Hey there. Miss you too. Hope you're doing well. I just commented on your post about your parents. Yeah, watching them age is tough. I hope that you're feeling better, though, and that your foot has healed and that no more surgeries were required.
The silence of LJ makes me sad.
I managed to transfer some of my older Sherlock Holmes fics to AO3, but not all. I haven't started on the CM stuff yet. Maybe this weekend.

I'm looking forward to actually writing some fics. Now... I need to have a discussion with Time about when I can do that.
Talk soon!
