Is Cameron Mitchell being referred to as "Cam" a canon thing or a fanon thing? The majority of the fics I've read refer to him as "Cam" so I'm guessing it's canon, but I haven't really watched SG-1 to know for sure ( Read more... )

It's official since his call sign is "Shaft" (Cam shaft). Or I think that's the explanation. All I know is my dog is named after Cam and when he gets really bad it's "Cameron Mitchell."

I want a brownie now. Dang it.

Ahhh okay! Thank you ^_^ So did other people on the show call him Cam? Like his team?

And hee, whenever my dog is being bad I always go "do you want to be an outside dog?" in a 'stern' voice. It doesn't work :/

I think they called him Cam when it wasn't Mitchell, but since it's "military" it's more as of a last name thing. I don't recall hearing Cameron a lot though.

Well, my dog got his name because of Cameron (the character) and his intense need for SG-1 to be back together. It was a very "play with me, plaaaay with me, plaaaay wwwwwiiiiith meeeeeeee" exuberance. Cam knows I won't leave him so that's useless. But "Cameron Mitchell!" really works.
