x Sometimes I wonder what people are doing from day to day. Like people I'm not with, what they've done in their mundane everyday what they would consider boringness. I'd like to know, sometimes my curiosity makes me think about the weirdest things ( Read more... )

Yes, GPA is grade point average. Usually the grades you get in your courses are measured on a scale of 0.0 to 4.0. There's some wonky math system that they do to average out your grade for each course (for instance, an A would give you a score of 4.0, a B+ would give you a 3.5, a D would give you a 1.0, and an F would give you nothing) and then those numbers are averaged so you get a cumulative GPA. The closer your GPA is to 4.0, the better. But pretty much every school system has a different scale, though. At my school, the highest GPA is a 4.7 - honours courses sometimes have more "weight" - an A would count for a 4.5 instead of just a 4.0.
