I've never liked it when Kate called him James - largely because the only person he's ever let call him that is Juliet. Even every one in Dharmville called him 'Jim' or 'La Fleur'. Locke would call him 'James' and he'd sort of begrudgingly accept that, but every time Kate tried calling him 'James' it just didn't sit well with me.
