Bones Manifesto

After reading the comments to the amazing open letter to HH and co. written here by sinkwriter, it became obvious that we might need a shorter (?), collective version to put in an open post or at least in the community's profile. A list of arguments to explain our disappointment, our concerns about the writing, or simply any kinds of issues we have with the ( Read more... )

- Booth being incredibly OOC
- Lack of episodes involving the whole team
- the forced B/B relationship (we liked when it was subtle)
- the lack of friendships (Zach/Hodgins, Anglea/Brennan, Booth/Brennan. We never get to see that stuff anymore. It's all about the romance.)
- the show barely even touched on Brennan's feelings about Booth "dying", or the team's reactions to what happened with Zach
- the inconsiderate humor (Booth barging in on Brennan's date, them leaving Sweets when he was obviously lonely)

Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. I hope you can make a great list, and I'll be optimistic with you about the chances of TPTB seeing it.

- Booth acting so... stupid for a lack of a better word.
- They way they force BB on us, a little less is very often a whole lotta more!
- and as a result of the ones above, the way Booth treats Brennan and the way Brennan lets him walk all over her.

I think it’s important to express, that this community isn’t about „spreading negativity“ but a place open for all sorts of criticism.

We want the whole package: enthralling crime solving, astounding science, multilayered characters, dry wit (instead of „Agent Goofball“) and cleverly written romance.

1. Focus on the whole ensemble and not just on BB. Show them all as the multilayered personalities they are, dealing with various problems in their unique ways.
2. Let the lab be a professional place with people who act in a professional way (not some kindergarten ruled by a childish shrink!)
3. Interesting criminal stories, which are challenging the audience and the characters, and lead to deeper character development.
