I'm Jordan (Your friendly creater/maintainer of Daysofourbones). I'm 28 and live in Australia. I'm slightly just the tiniest bit obsessed with TJ Thyne and I think I'm so unhappy with Bones at the moment because I don't watch the show for B/B. I watch it for Jack and for Jack/Angela and I've watched as the show has progressively changed to be all about B/B and their relationship.
The writing has gotten lazy and the characters no longer have layers. There may as well not be a case of the week anymore and Booth being an intolerant moron is no longer funny.
And yes, I do think Jack and Angela's break up was the lamest thing I've ever had the misfortune to see on Television.
While I thought the whole, "You don't trust me ... two people who can't trust each other shouldn't be together" is dumb and so out of the blue. I do like *puts up force shields for incoming tomatoes and the occasional rock* that breakup where you just don't know what happen, it's just not the same anymore. I don't know how to explain it, but I liked it because it's real well minus the actual reason they broke up, trust? lol random.
I do have to say I wasn't the biggest fan of H/A on the show, the writers didn't care at all about developing them beyond "Omg I love you".
I'm not necessarily that upset they broke them up (I was when I was originally spoiled) it was the way they went about it. I don't think their relationship on a whole was ever written properly. They were lucky that TJ and Michaela have amazing chemistry.
I'm Jennifer, and a bit miffed that the show just doesn't hold my attention anymore. The show had a different feel post-strike, and it's not the same anymore.
I'm Nicole. Unfortunately, I've stopped watching 'Bones' after 'Santa in the Slush', and I couldn't take it, anymore. However, I've still been monitoring the show, and keeping up with spoilers with hope that the show will go back to the basics. So far, it hasn't. I'm disappointed, because at one time I loved this show and I was glued to my seat every week.
I watched 'Bones' for the science, cases, and the chemistry between the WHOLE cast. At first, I tuned in for David Boreanaz. I'm a huge long time BtVS and Angel fan. Then, I fell in love with most of the characters. Everything had balance and it flowed well. I don't watch for B/B and their non-relationship is taking over the show. It's becoming boring and taking away from the amazing supporting cast that helps MAKE this show. Without them, this show is nothing, imo.
i feel like bones is running into the problem that the x-files did - you have this great UST that has to be resolved in some way. (i never wanted mulder and scully to get together until the end of the show - for me, everything ended after s6.)
i love booth, and i love brennan, but i hated the premiere. i hated the weak reason that angela and jack broke up, i hated that zach wasn't there, i hated that cam slept with Hot God Ex grayson, i hated the weak science.
i really hope they go back to a more monster of the week type show, with the booth/brennan relationship staying like best friends. i don't want a long drawn out search for brennan's assistant and i really don't want booth and brennan to hook up. and i like the faith v. science dialectic they had set up.
i do hope there's more caroline though. she cracks me up. i also like watching booth squirm when brennan talks about sex so matter of fact. and i hope we have a situation like the s1 christmas episode, where everyone might die but it all turns out okay. MORE ACTUAL DRAMA
I agree with everything you wrote (not X-files. I stopped watching that before season 6!) People think we're being negative for negative sake and its not that at all. We're negative because we remember the things the show does so well and we miss those things.
I'm hoping that it will settle down a bit after a couple more episodes because if the rest of the season is as bad as Yanks In The UK I'm not sure what I'll do.

I kind of wish I hadn't because I hate being disappointed every week. I still watch but the second TJ Thyne leaves the show I don't know...
