My googling seemed to suggest that Dropbox checks some... err, part of the ID of a file, to check if it corresponds to known copyrighted material. At any rate, it's an anti-piracy measure, whereas OneDrive seems to actively scan files to check for content that's against the TOS (porn, racist material etc.) Even though I don't expect they'd find anything terrible in my things, I don't fancy the idea of MS reading my private files, particularly not since the account I'm using on my main computer uses my real name.

The privacy thing is my main beef with using any cloud service, but I figured that as long as I use an anonymous account, chances are small that anyone would ever take particular interest in a few text documents saved there.
