Time Sure Flies when you're out doing things, and then suddenly I was back and work was starting and it's all so very meh. It's pointless to write about IRL because nothing really interesting ever happens, and it feels like it's pointless to write about fandom because no1cur ( Read more... )

I don't know, I think it sounds like you have accomplished a lot over the summer. Although I guess that might just say more about my own lack of accomplishments. I know exactly what you mean though.

Ooh, Detective Conan! I haven't read that for many years now. And the 80+ volumes by now is a bit intimidating even if I'm sure it's fully possible to jump in at some random adequate story arc. But sadly it's also kind of hard (read expensive) to get my hands on the books here. (Because I assume you're talking about the German edition here, which is the only one that ever would be an option for me.)

Haha, it's not that I'm complaining about the summer being uneventful! It's just that I've spent two thirds of my life in the educational system where every unit ending has a straight progress into the next one, and I don't know what to do with myself now that there's suddenly no next level. I end up living for the holidays when I get to travel, but... yeah, there's a lot of empty days between them.

Weeeeell, there hasn't been a whole lot of, err, progress going on in Conan's life since book two-ish or so anyway (still a kid, still keeping it a secret, still hasn't found a cure, still dead bodies falling at his feet every time he leaves the house). I got the books of Amazon (.de, natch), and the shipment totalled to ca. the prize of one extra book when I ordered, err, ten or so of them. But I admit that I went online and checked which books had appaerances of the new charas, because fifty books is a wee too much for me, too.
