A couple things about yesterday's post:
-- Kurono appears sweaty in his icons, but the keyword here is "icons". In person, Kurono won't be sweating unless he's fighting, clearly exerting himself physically or going through an stressing moment (i.e. in this icon he's being told that his head has a price in some circles, and in this other his social retardation is getting in the way of his possibly getting some). I haven't edited the sweat out of the icons because, 1) it's so characteristically GANTZ, 2) Kurono has an actual camp-made Livejournal account into which he logs in often, with the wtf icons and the ones of himself, none of which he can delete. The icons of himself come from his life before camp (meaning: they aren't up-to-date with what he wears in camp, how long his hair is, etc) and Kurono recognizes from what instance of his life they come from and is deeply unsettled by this fact and the fact that he doesn't know exactly where they came from or who made them. He blames it on GANTZ, but he will admit to himself he doesn't know that for sure.
-- I wasn't intending on having Kurono explain what "yesterday's events" were to. . . anyone, really. I will get to them in a second, because I do, OOCly, want to explain what's going on for those who care. Kurono himself, though, is a very reserved person and not likely to talk about "his feelings *sniff*" with anyone, period. Not even his girlfriend. But, if I'd let Kurono have his way, he would've holed himself up in Boys 1, curled in a ball and getting Allen or someone to bring junk food, effectively disappearing from the game. People wouldn't have known that something had happened to him or that he was upset, and from a RPer's perspective, that doesn't help me getting him out there and building relationships.
So what happened? We'll need some background info first. Kurono has an outside-of-camp girlfriend called Tae. Kurono also has an idol bombshell crushing on him called Reika, who asked him out on a date while he was dating Tae. They never kissed, because Reika realized Kurono had a girlfriend and chose not to act on her desires. However, a paparazzi caught them on camera and Tae eventually found out about the date (it didn't help that, like, the whole school was overflowing with Kurono/Reika rumors) and broke up with him.
Not too much later, there was a hunt and Tae was the prey. Kurono did everything he could to save Tae (he even killed a GANTZer and Kurono Does Not Kill People), and Tae realized that Kurono's love was honest and true and stuff. . . before dying in his arms after being shot to death by Izumi Shion. Fast-forward a little bit, and we have Kurono right before getting to camp. Kurono's been putting his life on the line to get Tae back. One of his teammates's got 100 points and revives Tae for Kurono. Tae's alive, won't remember the way she died, she's alright and the only thing Kurono has to do now is get back home and go see her. The rest of the team tell him to use his 100 points to get out of GANTZ once and for all, Kurono picks that option and. . . is sent to camp instead. Without seeing Tae again. Knowing that Tae is all the way back in Japan and upset that Kurono went on a date with someone else.
Kurono loves Tae more than anyone else besides himself, but he's controlled by his dick in a very big way. He is hypnotized by . . . practically every girl in camp he's met. And he hasn't had sex in a while (I have to figure out the manga chronology again, but let's say 6 months). So, when Anko grabbed him and licked him, he just sort of melted into it. But then Anko pushed him away and for Kurono that was like a bucket of cold water on the head. He's betrayed Tae, not so much because of the amount of making out he's made (which wasn't much) but because he knows that he would've gone as far as Anko wanted if she'd let him.
Kurono just wants to go home right now. Because the longer he's apart from Tae, the likelier he'll cheat on her again. And he doesn't want to think about that. He just wants a normal life (BUT DOES HE?? That's an essay for another time) without complications, plz. Not like he can tell Anko this, though, because Kurono's terrible at talking about his feelings and also he's too starved for attention and indecisive to actually tell Anko, "I can't say no to you, so please stop leading me on or uhh wearing a fishnet bodysuit around me or talking to me."
This is, obviously, in no way Anko's fault, but something that I knew was going to happen the moment any girl Kurono couldn't say no to assaulted him. XD Like I said, it is in his nature to be controlled by lil' Kei. So, it's completely pathetic and undoubtedly will happen again unless Kurono makes up his mind in one way or another, yes. And this is without even getting to the part where Kurono is convinced that Anko is, for some inexplicable reason, lying about the level of commitment she has with Gai or how much the fact that Gai looks like one of the aliens Kurono had to kill in order to survive puts Kurono off. XD
