Currently....I read the whole twilight series in 4 days and now, since I can't get it out of my head, I am going to re-read it but slower this time to really enjoy it. I ead it so fast because I was desperate to find out how things ended but now that I know (and am happy) I can read through the more difficult plot parts and know that it will be ok ( Read more... )

I keep thinking I want to see what all the "Twilight" hype is about -- have you read the Harry Potter series? I am a big fan of those and hear that they are similarly intriguing. What do you think?

Hello!
I read the first harry potter and found it good but did not continue. I LOVED the Harry Potters movies but now I can empathize with Leo. He read all the books and watched all the movies but said the books were better. I now read all the twilight books and saw the preview for the movie and can already tell the books are better but I am still excited for the movie! (the harry potter character edward diggary (sp) plays the main character from twilight- edward- so there is a similarity. ;)
But yes, I definitely see similarities. It is obviously fictional- a girl falling in love with a vampire- but it has a harry potter type feel to it and the series, for some reason, really captured me similar to how the harry potter movies did. You would have to read the books to see how they are similar because it is quite hard to point out specifics. Let me know if you decide to read them. :) ...but please do not rely on the movie. Half of the books are inner monologues so I do not know HOW they an portray all of that in the movie- which ( ... )

I would definitely read the books before seeing the movies... I enjoy seeing how the HP books translate to the screen, but it just isn't right, in the long run. There is no comparison for JK Rowling's book versions.

lol Awesome. Yeah, I am in the middle of new moon again. I was SOOO worried the first half of the last book I didn't like it at all- i wanted the whole darn thing to be a happy ending. BUT- I loved the second half. I guess Meyer got a lot of negative feedback about her last book but the more i think about it i think the whole series really compliments each other. BUT- I will FORCE myself to try to not think about it after I read it the second time- at least until I can go to the movie. :) I feel like sucha teeny bopper but I think the love story is beautiful and not perfect which is even more awesome.
