We talk about things here in the US as though tiny little details, like the ones we stress over so much, actually matter. 1 mile south of the city I live in, people are being beheaded. As I keep trying to point out to my ever-worrying family, the people getting beheaded and getting their tongues cut out are either involved with the drug trade somehow, prominent citizens, or a threat to the drug trade (i.e. a police chief).

I'm not going to put my foot in my mouth and say there is no danger for someone like me, but I'm really not among the people that the cartels are targeting. You know this. Stop worrying so much.

*rolls eyes*

Brian, Marines are known to get into trouble in TJ. I recall you telling me that YOU weren't supposed to go there back in 1991; am I making that up?

I'm not saying there is no danger; we both know that's untrue. All I'm saying is that I think the threat for someone like me is probably being a bit overblown. I'm always in a large group going to the most forgotten areas of town. That just isn't where the drug cartels target.
