I spend three hours being sociable and chatting with my family and my dad's childhood friend, and my voice is sore afterwards. I take two hours off and decide that I feel fine to sing, so I warm up well. i've done that too...but there is a way to sing in a choir and still be ok. It takes mass amounts of air and support but not so much sound (like constantly singing pianissomo)...it sucks

make sure your speaking voice isnt too low...i really notice when a day goes by and my voice is just shot because i've been speaking too low (this was mostly when i was doing my show and HAD to speak low)

haha yeah I do know that I speak kind of low, especially when I catch myself trying to sound older (bad).
