Day 16 - Your first kiss

I was in 2nd grade. His name was Aaron. Not firstlove!Aaron, totally different Aaron. (You see a pattern, though, right?) We were on this totally ridiculous field trip where we basically just drove past everyone's house, and we had to sit together, since he lived around the block from me. Out of nowhere, he just asks if I would kiss him, and somehow or another he convinced me to do it. I just remember feeling really awkward the rest of the day, because I had a massive crush on this other boy named Eric and the two of them were friends. ...boys have always meant drama for me. Aaron would deny for years that the kiss happened, but I didn't mind; we mostly just sort of nodded at each other through junior high, and he went to a different high school. Last I heard, he works at Target and has a baby mama. Such is the world.

Day 17 - Your favorite memory

In 7th grade, I had to take this class called Industrial Tech, which is like a mash-up of all the stuff you might go to a technical school to learn, like design, engineering, etc. You rotated from station to station, and you'd get a new partner each time. Somehow they thought that locking a pair of kids in a sound booth for a week was a good way to teach them how to do audio broadcasting, so needless to say, when I got to that station, I quickly developed a crush on my partner, Andrew. All I had to contribute was Backstreet Boys, but he had a whole binder of CDs, and the first thing he whipped out was Sum 41. When he played "Pain for Pleasure," and I heard that baseline for the first time, it was like suddenly knowing what my destiny was. From then on out, I was a rock girl, and I haven't looked back.
