Our electric bill has been close to $170 since June. May was $130 at which point I fainted and then after coming to, I unplugged everything possible and turned off our cable. Tvs are supposed to be HUGE electricy drainers. And you see what that did to our bill. The ac runs all the time even when kept at 75 plus. Something that really bothers a cali ( Read more... )

What I've been doing is plugging things into power bars. Like my computer and such, when I'm done i flip the power bar off. I even have it on the tv and stuff. I wonder if I've made any difference, guess I'll see with this month's electric bill coming up :)

We put the tvs, their components and computers on power strips and unplugged the chargers. And of course we aren't watching tv so that was supposed to cut way back. I shudder to think what the bill would be if we hadn't done all that. Of course I just noticed K's computer is on. Heh. The strategy has not been perfected as of yet.
