That's a cute hat! I recently joined, so is it okay if I added you on my friend's list? I don't knit or crochet, but there's a growing community of those of us who like to dye. I have also recently been introduced to spinning. Right now, I'm learning all I can about natural dyes, so I don't have any projects. Hopefully, soon!
Heh. It took me a little bit to figure out who you were on ravelry. Of course it's ok! I can't wait to hear about the natural dyes. I have seen some yarn done with beets, coffee and a few other things. If I can remember where I saw it, I will give you the link. What sort of things are you spinning?
Right now, I'm learning how to spin sheep wool. Eventually, I'd learn how to spin llama and alpaca fiber. I'm allergic to the fiber from sheep, goats, and rabbits. After a lot of trial and error, I found I can wear the fiber from members of the camel family.
Wow. I thought I had it bad with my wool allergy! Although I haven't tried cashmere and angora in a long time. It's possible I can't wear those either. So llama and alpaca are ok? I have felt some of the softest alpaca yarns. I think I am going to make Parker's next hat from it. That's about all I can afford! It's not cheap. I'll keep an eye out for your projects on ravelry. Can you knit or crochet? What are you going to do with your spinning?
