So _everything_ was dubbed? When I was there, they dubbed the spoken bits, but songs were usually left in the original language, with subtitles at the bottom. At least, that's how they did it on TV. I didn't see any musicals at the cinema! Lucky you, being in Hungary
I watched the first 5-10 minutes of the Producers in the plane in April, but I didn't laugh the entire time so I changed channels. I thought it was a rather crappy immitation of a real classic musical, but without any ironic imitation of the genre to take it into spoof territory. I would have much rather watched Singing in the Rain, or the like. Did it get better? I think I ended up watching The March of the Penguins instead - awesome movie: informative, funny, entertaining, moving.
Yeah, I actually chanegd channels in the plane too, as Matthew Broderick just annoyed me far too much :P However the musical was fantastic, though that may have been thanks in great part to the fantastic cast who were so full of energy it was impossible not to get caught up in the action :) I did like the Springtime for Hitler section near the end, that was very funny.
Ooh March of the Penguins! That movie is so well done :)
I usually like Matthew Broderick! Well, it sounds like it gets better, so I might give it a go on another occasion. Probably not being on a plane might help :)
Nick saw Producers in New York or somewhere equally overseas-but-English-speaking when he did his going overseas jaunt after (my) first year, that show sure does get around! Keep up the good cheap concert attending work. Bassoony might be here tomorrow!!!!!!!
I still don't have bassoony :( The couriers 'forgot' to pick him up in Auckland on Tuesday night, so he didn't arrive yesterday, but should be arriving today. I'm seriously hoping he arrives today as I have a CS rehearsal tonight fo the concert on Saturday, and I just don't want to use Mordecai.
