oooh, I dunno, but I'll think about ideas! If your parents kicked in like $400, you might be able to get the laptop, though if he wants one mainly for video games, I don't know if that would be enough to afford the kind he'd want.

yea, it looks like he wants a macbook, which i think comes in at close to a grand. i would care more about getting him a good one for school. tho, i think now pretty much any computer is good enough for games. i think the video cards and stuff are all really goo now in basic computers.

i have thought about putting the call out to a few different family members to see if they want to chip in. i could put jack in charge of picking the model.

I know this is boring but what about some old fashioned cash? I feel like when I graduated from high school I mostly just got money from relatives... I don't remember it being a big occasion where people bought me THINGS and I honestly I think I was perfectly fine with that. :)

Then again, I also graduated HS at a time when it wasn't really normal for everyone to own their own computer. Oh man, I'm old.

I was just going to say a gift card to the Apple store would be a great idea!

I got an engraved silver desk little-stuff-dish with my name on it :)

i also think girls are way easier to buy for. maybe i'm biased. i found lots of ideas with little charms and jewelry. for guys it's watches. but again, does anyone actually use a watch to tell time anymore?? and he's not so much for the nice accessories/trinkets.

it's looking more and more like a gift card!

yea, paper? what?

gas card has also come up as an option. for this, i'm open to money and gift cards. i think graduation is a bit different than other occasions.
