So last night, for the first time in quite a while, I cried myself to sleep.  I was reminded in the paper of a tragedy that happened to our close-knit society 6 years ago.  Not too many people know about this, save for the few that I went to school with.  On January 11, 2001, my friend, Kevin Cuthbert, took his own life.  Usually, we walked home

Well, Dan, I honestly don't know what to say. I've been lucky enough to not experience this, although I have had many close calls.
I think it's good that you can write about this and admit to your sorrow and fears. It's healthy, it's REAL.

Anyway, I'm really sorry you had to go through this kind of pain, and are STILL going through this kind of pain. It hurts to miss him, I'm sure.
But even you know that you will keep fighting on, and nobody needs to tell you that.

But if it helps, I'm here for you...we all are.
And yes, you WILL keep fighting on. Because you're Dan Balash, and that's what you do.

Yea that day and most of the things related to it were some of the hardest things I ever had to deal with. Every time we do your neighborhood for recycling it reminds me of all of us hanging out and all the good times.

I miss him a ton.
