Sad News

But  not entirely unexpected.  I had to have my sweet but very elderly dog put to sleep today. I came home from work, took her out for her walk, and her hind legs collapsed under her.  I got her standing again, but she clearly couldn't walk well, and she wasn't her usual mellow self, and - it was clearly time.  She was seventeen and a half - ( Read more... )

Thanks. She was a good girl - and she only shed twice a year, for 6 months at a time.... ;-)

Thanks. It's not like I hadn't been expecting it - and, honestly, we got a good year longer than I thought we might - but - I'll miss her.

We were in the same situation with my cat. We got her when she was an adult, and she lived another 19 YEARS with us. We kept expecting the end to come but other than a few quick bouts with illness she still seemed spry. Then boom, just one day she slowed down and a day later she was gone. Nothing can prepare you for it, even of you brace yourself. ::hug::
