1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
I can't think of one thing. Sad, isn't it?
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
All my resolutions are works in progress. I hope I made some progress, even if it wasn't much.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My sister-in-law had a son, my boss had twin girls!
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My great-uncle, who had the same birthday as me. Mostly people close to people close to me. My friend Nikki's dad. My friend Wren's cousin. My friends Shauna and Melissa's grandmothers. My friend Lena's mom.
5. What countries did you visit?
The Otherworld.
6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
Self-care. Serenity. A lot more laughter and joy. Creativity. Connection.
7. What date from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
May 17. The hottest day of the year, and my wedding day.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Marriage. Special Ed. Endorsement. Surviving the year.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I failed to take care of myself and nurture carefully many fragile and beautiful things.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not really. Colds and melancholia.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Fake moustaches for my entire class and myself.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Liam's. He is SO BRAVE! Plantgirl's (cause she said so. :)). Trystn's for being patient and loving with me. Everyone who participated in the political process this year, and not just those who voted for Obama.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My own, some co-workers', Sarah Palin's.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Crap. Bills.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Hard to say. It's been a stressful year.

Writing. Taking baths. Playing outside. Laughing. Reading. BE-ing.

Angsting. Emotional Eating. Taking antacids. Nothing.
20. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?
With friends, eating, drinking, and being silly.

Lots of them. I'm on several comms.

Of course.

None.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
I really didn't watch TV at all this year. I watched "Countdown" online, and videos online, and movies. Still, I really didn't have much time at all for the TV.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nope. I still hate all the same people (joking.)
26. What was your favorite film of this year?
Didn't see that many. I think I only saw three in the theatre. I really liked "The Secret Life of Bees."
27. What was the best book you read?
That Courtesan one.
28. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Just rediscovering music, I think. It's really good.

Married.
30. What did you want and not get?
There are some things I haven't received...yet.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 39 and had a lovely day at the zoo on the weekend of my b-day.
32. What's one thing that would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Well, it would have been nice if I had been able to truly relax and feel good more often.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
I actually try to coordinate stuff and look good most of the time, instead of just defaulting into slouchy and frumpy.
34. What kept you sane?
Sheer will. Friends (online and irl).
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I just randomly fancy people. I'm too old to obsess on just any one.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
The presidential election.

The ocean (thanks, p-girl), my family, my own sanity.

Nancy. There are some other good people, too, no doubt.

I can survive on stress and pure adrenaline, but it doesn't make life very pleasant.
