Wow, it's been over a month since I've posted. I think maybe this LJ thing might be coming to a close for me before too long. I love that I can read up on the lives of my friends, but I just don't feel compelled to write anymore

Well, I definitely can relate to your circumstances with the goal-setting. I've really had to be more realistic about my expectations - couldn't you just make a goal as simple as "Jason and I will go for a nature walk X times per week/month?" I mean, it's something that you like to do anyway with a person you want to spend time with. With the tendinitis, it's going to be hard to do anything too strenuous, but I'm wondering if you can just 'switch out' some of the time you spend doing other things and actively plan on doing something active.
Yeah, the oil spill makes me really upset. I don't like how it's being handled at all.
Yeah but you have done a great job and lost a ton of weight. I am at my biggest ever and am so ridiculously sedentary. I feel like nature walks aren't really going to cut it. I guess I feel like unless I make a major life change and work out HARD I may as well not bother. I know that's not the attitude to have, I am just so far from where I want to be.
Jason isn't much of a planner, I think I will have to do this on my own.
What's with the XYs and not liking planning? It's almost like Dane's allergic to planning unless it's something that he's super into, like playing Street Fighter online with random people from his forum. Anyway...
I haven't really lost a ton, a modest 30 lbs ish with 40 to go, so that's giving me more credit than I deserve there. I think the main thing I'd like to pat myself on the back for is changing my lifestyle so much. I'm just trying to say don't really put what I've done on some crazy pedestal. Besides, I'm on medication now because even my best isn't cutting it.
But in all fairness, if you really are as sedentary as you claim (which seems to be an exaggeration, imho) even simple walks are good. It helps lift your spirits and it might inspire you to do more. I'm just saying start small and don't be so hard on yourself, okay? It's not an all or nothing game here. You can play as hard as you want to.
Don't give up! Besides, I'll be trying to drag you places when I get back to PDX, so be ready. :P
It would be good to be dragged places. I would like to challenge myself a bit with hiking. You did part of Eagle Creek with us once didn't you? I bet you could make it all the way to the big waterfall now. But that trail is not fun until it's dried out, and it has been raining like he'll here.
