Summary: Yunho goes through his attic.
Yunho finds an old trunk in his attic, hidden behind a stack of records. It’s hard, having to go through his late wife’s things. The things they accumulated together. Twenty years of marriage, thirty of being together. This box, with its battered leather straps is strange, not as well-loved as the other objects in the room, the ties bound tightly, claustrophobically. It takes a knife to cut it free and then the letters and a photo pours out.
Smiling eyes, blond hair, and an arm, male and finely muscled, slung across Yunho’s shoulders. The happiness there glows brilliantly. After all these years, the Parisian sunshine in it still unfaded.
Yunho’s fingers tremble. He grabs the photo, crushing it as he hurls it back into the trunk. He slams it shut and turns away, trying hard to run away from the pinpricks gathering at the edges of his eyes - and fails.
