Summary: In which Jaejoong poses a weird question before dinner, and you're not sure how to answer.
Jaejoong looks up from the platter of food you’ve placed before him, staring at you intently for a few moments before licking his lips. His gaze unrelenting, he bites on his lower lip, spreading a pleasantly pinkish hue where the tips of his teeth meet his lip.
“Do you… believe in miracles?” he asks cautiously, looking slowly down at the steaming plate, and then back at you.
You frown slightly. What a strange question to pose, and right before dinner, too. The metaphysical implications of the possible answers to this questions rush through your mind for a brief moment before you run several hypothetical “what-if” situations in your head.
Was this question a precursor to something special he’d planned? Maybe he’d been so enamored by your cooking that he felt the need to pop the question right here and now-
You realize then that a minute of a pregnant, almost-awkward silence between the two of you has passed and you blink at him, your slight frown still in place.
You feel the faintest hint of a blush starts creeping onto your cheeks, as a small amount of panic begins to arise within you. You’re not sure if you’re ready to hear what he has to say, and say the only thing you can manage:
“Erm… Why?”
“Because I’m going to need one in order to be alive, after eating this.”
