Summary: he wished for a puppy and for the sky to sprinkle snow on Christmas
Warning: Horror filled unbeta-ed. And rushed writing is also something to be afraid of.
When Kikwang was still a child, he wished for a puppy and for the sky to sprinkle snow on Christmas so it’ll make his mother laugh in delight. He wondered if Santa would like the cookies he left out for him or will there be chicken for dinner.
When Kikwang was a teenager, he wished he could move people with his dances, pulling them in as he move gracefully across the stage and paint stories with his voice. He wondered if his mother will be proud of him or will Yoseob always be his best friend.
Now all Kikwang wished for was that he didn’t have to attend this stupid award show on Christmas without the other members of Beast and he wondered how long is it until he can go home to them.
When he opened the doors to their dorm, he was disappointed to find it in darkness. None of them were waiting for him. But then again, he can’t blame them, it’s already late and Doojoon and Junhyung probably made them sleep early. (Junhyung probably nagged until the younger ones couldn’t stand it). Frustration bubbled up inside him, and he made his way to the balcony, trying to get a hold of himself.
‘Kikwang?’
He tightened his hold on the balcony’s railing. That voice, he’d recognize it anywhere. Smooth as silk yet sweet as chocolate. Never failed to put a smile on his face.
‘Hyunseung.’
He could feel his lover’s arm snaked around his waist, pulling him into a tight embrace. His head snuggled into his shoulder and Kikwang can’t help but leaned into the touch.
‘Merry Christmas Kiki’ he said accompanied with a kiss to the cheek. ‘I hope I still made it, I was waiting the whole day to wish you.’
‘It’s already past Christmas Hyunnie,’ he let out a string of laughter, his eyes crinkling into crescents. ‘But I guess I’ll just accept it anyway’
‘I’m sorry we couldn’t wait for you though. Joonkun-hyung made us turn in early and Junhyung was nagging along with him and god...it was unbearable’ Hyunseung complained with a pout, all the while with Kikwang smiling in amusement, drawing circles on his hyung's arm. ‘Anyways, I managed to save your present from being eaten by Seobbie and magnae. Come on! I’ll show you!’
And with that he was pulled along by an excited Hyunseung to the kitchen. He was seated at the dining table while Hyunseung dug around in the fridge.
‘Here you go!’ Hyunseung said while shoving a small cake in front of him. It’s a two-layer sponge cake with a single layer of strawberry jam sandwiched in between and sprinkled with icing sugar on top. ‘It wasn’t much but I managed to make this for you.’ He cut out a small piece and poised it in front of Kikwang, smiling expectantly.
Kikwang smiled and sat there, occasionally taking turn to feed the other, filling the space with their laughter and mumbles of sweet nothings.
Silently he thanked God for giving him the best present he ever had.
