Reading through from the very beginning, and I think this has got to be one of my favourite threads:

August 2003: Johnny's pool - Orlando, Bill, JohnnyJust a perfect example of easy, subtle character groundwork. The dynamic between these three is so good, and there's this whole element of doom because dude, Bill's cover can't end without tragedy

Yeah, circe, I mentioned this back in the beginning of dby lounge. It seems to me perhaps the pivotal point for Bill, where that simple playing in the pool with Orlando is really quite cataclysmic. Accepting Johnny's trunks, a normal exchange between Orlando and Bill with the high jinx in the pool, the metaphorical hand Johnny extends to Bill to join the cby family and how Bill accepts it, not realizing that he is accepting it. Major chapter actually.

And then the Orli/Johnny opium-needy sex. Phew!

I'm in mid-September right now and have just met Sean Bean. What an awesome characterization there.
