New modem/router has been connected to iiNet for 12 hours now without a dropout. That's 11 hours longer than the old modem had managed at any time since they "upgraded" their infrastructure the weekend before last.

Fingers crossed.

If anyone needs a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router and/or an Alcatel Speedtouch Home ADSL modem (which does work, ( Read more... )

You probably wouldn't have the same problems, since I think the modem was at the root of them, not the router.

You might have different problems, though, since your modem is in itself a router, I think, so it would be a router connected to a router connected to the computers. I'm sure that's doable, but I've never done it (not exactly being Mr. Networking).

David, I noticed you mentiond "Alcatel Speedtouch Home ADSL modem" -- if you want improved selling, I suggest you upgrade it to the Pro version ( ... )
