"Mommy, why does no one look like me on [Friends]?"

Wow. I never thought I could get this excited with a Gundam saga in my life XD

Watched the premiere of [Gundam 00] on TV5 (here's episode 1 and episode 2, for those who missed it ^^), and I have to say, the Tagalog dub is quite impressive for a TV5 title. But of course this is coming from someone who hasn't even heard the original Japanese dub yet. ( Read more... )

Oh well. The anime on TV era is over, and people have moved on to either pirate DVDs, torrents, or streams. ^^;

Well, I wouldn't say that the era is "over," because if it was, local TV stations wouldn't even bother airing anime nowadays, among other things. It's just that the audience for anime broadcast on TV has dramatically reduced from those in its "golden days" of the 1990's and early 2000's, precisely because of the reasons you cited. But there's still an audience for it, definitely.

Willie Revillame has just announced that he will finally leave ABS-CBN and transfer to TV5 to host a noontime show there. Not surprising move from him, actually. His show [Wowowee] getting replaced and all, he has all the reasons to leave ABS-CBN. (And actually, I want him to leave ABS-CBN unless he finds a way to change that arrogant attitude of his.) But as we all know, all noontime shows have their Saturday editions. If Willie's show on TV5 will have that Saturday edition, then the current AniMEGA timeblock will have to give way.

Meanwhile, Eat Bulaga keeps on ticking even after taking so much of a licking for years... Big Two can't seem to find something permanent -- again.

Guys and girls who own and use laptops out there: could you give me tips on how to save battery life? This thing lasts only for around 2 hours, for crying out loud! Good thing kuya's not bringing this to school yet. Sayang lang na hindi nagbebenta ng bagong baterya ng laptop ang Dell stores dito -_-
May mga nagtitinda ng piyesa ng (used/surplus) laptop sa ( ... )

May nagsabi sa akin na lahat ng itinapat sa Eat Bulaga ay sumuko rin in the long run. And that includes the legendary Student Canteen. Just checked the ratings of Pilipinas Win na Win, and as expected, it is on average significantly lower than that of Wowowee, let along Eat Bulaga.

Hmn, ano at saan ang mga shops na yan? Mapuntahan nga. As for the power settings, this laptop uses (pirated) Windows XP, so it doesn't have the simplified power management settings like Best Performance, Normal, and Power Saving. Kino-compensate ko na lang by bringing down the brightness setting every time it uses the batteries (which it seems to do automatically).

Starmall EDSA Crossing
St. Francis Square
EDSA Central MRT station (doon sa papuntang Shangrila)

* The Mobil suits pronunciation comes from the Japanese audio. That's a good sign that they actually watched it, LOL.
* Setsuna's voice is deliberately monotonic. This only ever changes when Ali and Graham are around and/or when something gets him worked up.
* Patrick's voice sucks. And wait, did they change his last name?
* Couldn't watch Allelujah's appearance because of stupid megavideo's limit.
* Lockon's voice is okay. It's not bad, but it's not very good, either.

P.S. I hate how they cram long sentences.

* Ah ok. So they actually were correct on that one. Sanay na kasi akong Mobile ang pronunciation niya, eh.
* Hmn, ok. I guess that worked out for him.
* SECONDED. Parang ganyan ang boses ni Allelujah, but with a slightly lesser crappiness effect. And yes, ngayon ko lang napansin. Colasour became Chrysler. Gawin bang brand ng kotse ang apelyido niya :|
* Naglilimit sa 'yo ang Megavideo? But I was able to watch both eps on the same day.

I guess it's unavoidable, considering the circumstances.
