Three weeks ago I said that I was going to upload the rest of my pictures from Holland, but I never did get around to it, so I decided to make a somewhat large picture post.
Here's Leiden, the hometown of Rembrandt, and just an overall beautiful city.
Boats are big in Holland, and a lot of restaurants have transformed old sailboats into places to eat.
Even the butcher was ready for the world cup. Holland's national color is orange because the royal family is referred to as the House of Orange.
In Leiden there are many churches, but one in particular is very special because it is the place where the Pilgrims went before coming to America.
This is a list of the Pilgrims names.
I just thought this pulpit was so freaking cool.
And this picture is from my last night there. It is an old moat (sp?) from back in the day to protect the city of Delft. My mom and I found it on the search for shoarma. Somebody actually lives in there.
Since then, not much has happened. I took 3 weeks off for relaxation, which ended up being not so relaxing? I started to clean, cook, bake, and SEW. I really started scaring myself with the whole 1950's homemaker business, you know? I've hung out with friends, eaten at Moe's, seen good movies, driven all over the place. Who could ask for more?
Right now I am in summer school, and oddly enough I am really enjoying it. I think I have become one of those people that needs something to do to be happy. I feel like the class is worthwhile, and having people to laugh it off with makes it easier to stay awake during those long 7-hour days. Although I feel like some friends are slipping away, getting close with others has filled the void. Oh, and in a week and a half, I get to meet all new people because I am going on this trip to NYC and DC. I am so excited.
I hope everyone is happy with their AP scores:)
