Warning: References to child abuse. So many apologies. ;-; I know it's not funny, and I did not intend it to be. This drabble is completely serious.
He had never been hit before. His mother and father had never hurt him as a child. They'd never yelled at him (well, except for the time he started drilling into the floor, but now that he was older, he was pretty sure he deserved that. He'd only been four at the time). They'd never called him names or ignored him when he tugged on their clothes. They'd always smiled at him.
Before that day, Simon had never been hit.
And so he cried. Tiny, eight year old Simon Jiha cried.
And for the second time in his life, no one comforted him.
And for the second time in his life, he realized he was alone.
And that was the day he decided he'd never speak up again.
[OOC Note: For those who don't know, Simon's an orphan. And when his parents died, he was taken in by the village chief. Who, canonically hits Kamina, who, as ALSO an orphan, is also his charge, several times. For completely different reasons than the one Simon did. But still, I don't doubt that Simon was hit as a little kid for one reason or another. LOL, I think the OOC note is longer than the actual drabble :|
