The area was mostly dark, the only light was coming from the headlights of the blonde assassin’s car as she leaned casually against the hood, watching the teen that had cornered her. She recognized this one, it was that Naoto Shirogane the silver bullet had and his whole team had become friends with.

The blonde took a long drag on her cigarette and flicked it away onto some other part of the lot. The boy just stood for several seconds, thinking over something, she was sure. What it was, she didn’t really care.

“My, My, I’m actually impressed.” The assassin stated, sighing and crossing her arms with a small smirk. “You followed me here before ‘cool kid’ could.”

“Cool Kid?” Naoto repeated, looking somewhat perplexed. “You mean Conan-kun?”

“Who else?” She smiled pleasantly, making the meeting seem casual when it, in fact, was not. The truth of the meeting was that Vermouth was an assassin and Naoto Shirogane was a detective who had cornered her, or so he thought. Naoto didn’t speak after Vermouth confirmed the nickname she’d given Conan. What was there to say? They both knew what happened next, it was probably why the detective was clinging onto his yoyo so tightly. He had followed a high ranked member of a vastly expanding criminal organization. A member he was in way over his head with.

“Why so nervous sweetheart?” She taunted. It was such in exhilarating feeling. She was like a cat that had just caught a baby mouse, it was helpless, and defenseless. Too bad for this mouse that it’s life would soon be over.

“N-Nervous?” Naoto scoffed, looking offended. “What makes you say that?” Vermouth uncrossed her arms to lean in a little forward, watching the younger for a reaction.

“Because you’ve reached a game over, and unfortunately for you, Naoto-kun, you won’t be granted an extra life.” She could see the word repeating in his head as he tried to wrap his mind around it. More then one life? What could she possibly mean? Vermouth smiled gently at the detective and quickly drew the gun she’d concealed on her person.

Naoto jumped into action, brandishing the yoyo as his weapon, silly child, as if that would stop a bullet. She aimed briefly and fired. Before she was even aware what had happened she watched as the detective crashed into the concrete, skidding maybe a few inches, something small wrapped around his middle.

…..

When did he get there? That damn brat was always messing up her best plans. Still, it was mildly impressing.

“C-Conan-kun?” Of course it was him, who else would tackle someone she was about to shoot? He confirmed with her that she was okay and turned to give Vermouth a fierce stare.

“Well, well, well, look who’s late to the party.” She said good naturedly.

“Don’t even.” Shinichi spat, climbing to his feet.

“Someone’s in quite a mood.” She watched as his eyes narrowed farther, his teeth gritting.

“Conan…?” She heard the boy that was fooled by Shinichi’s current appearance. The fake child ignored him, gaze still fixed on the assassin.

“Okay, Okay.” Vermouth raised her hands in a casual gesture. “I won’t try killing your Shirogane friend again.” Her narrowed as she saw he was getting his watch ready and quickly fired her gun at the watch, lodging a bullet where the needle would come out and forced his hand to go back and smack himself. Naoto immediately jumped on Conan about seeing if he had bullet wounds and Vermouth made her exit, jumping in the car and backing away fast.
