He kept a sharp eye out for any wandering Turks and an even sharper eye out for any sign of Rufus, but at least for the moment he appeared to have the road to himself. Aerith knew that she should have been going back to the past but she had wanted to stay and spend some time with Zack. It had been more selfish of her to want to join Tseng in Costa del Sol, but she had made sure to keep out of sight, not wanting to cause Tseng anymore trouble than she had already. She was still a bit shaken from the other day, but Zack would be here, and she had gotten to spend time with Tseng, so she had calmed down, feeling better.

So when someone knocked on the door, she dived behind the desk, waiting until the door had opened. The footsteps were heavy, so she peeked up over the edge, smiling as she saw Zack there.

"You're here!" she stood quickly, making her way over to him excitedly. "Are you're ready for the beach?" she asked with a big smile, all set to go as well, wearing the swim suit she had gotten under her dress.

Zack had been momentarily disappointed to find the office empty, but his grin returned full force when Aerith peeked over the desk. "Are we playing hide and seek?" he asked, amused.

The moment she came within reach he caught her by the waist and pulled her close, kissing her happily. The single day they'd spent hiding out in Healin because of the virus hadn't been nearly enough time for him to enjoy having her near.

"I'm ready to go if you are," he said when he pulled away again, his grin softening into a smile.

She laughed, letting Zack pull her close. Even though it hadn't been very long since the virus, she had still missed him. "I am, it's been rather fun actually!"

Aerith returned his kiss, smiling back as he pulled away. "All ready! Is the coast clear?" she peeked around him but didn't hear anyone else nearby.

"Yup! Either Tseng is covering for us, or Angeal's still out there watching over us," Zack said, smiling. Despite his confident words he did a quick check of the area for himself, scanning for anyone that might be a threat. There was nobody, so he let Aerith precede him out the door and shut it behind them.

He reached for her hand, tangling his fingers with hers as they walked. "There's this gorgeous cove if we walk down the beach a ways," he told her. "We shouldn't run into anybody there. You up to the walk?" He grinned again. "I suppose I could always carry you piggy-back."
