[RL with Tseng & Reeve]

Zack had been with Tseng and Reeve long enough now that he felt fairly comfortable in their home, so he didn't mind setting the table for dinner while Reeve finished the preparations. Especially since Tseng had ended up needing to stay late with Rufus. Considering how often that happened, it was probably just as well ( Read more... )

It surprised Reeve just how comfortable he had become with Zack, in term. Sharing with Tseng had been an adjustment enough, but Zack had fit into their lives like the missing piece.

He leaned back against Zack's shoulder just the slightest bit, giving him a small smile as he gently smacks Zack's hand away from the bowl. "Not until Tseng comes back, you know better." Which isn't really an answer to Tseng.

"Yeah, but I'm starving," Zack replied, making overly exaggerated puppy eyes at his lover. "T could be gone for hours still. Or did he call to say he'd be home soon?"

He perked up at the thought. Neither he nor Reeve were all that happy that their third lover was at Rufus' beck and call for so many hours of the day - and it seemed like Rufus had been getting more insistent on Tseng staying later and later, since he'd found out about Zack's addition to the relationship.

Reeve laughed, shaking his head. "Did you ever mature past sixteen?" he teased, but he ceded the salad bowl to the other man. After all, it was just salad, and Tseng was on the way home. And dinner wasn't usually such a structured affair in this house, but tonight was special. Not that Zack had any way of knowing that.

"He is on his way."

"Yeah, sure. I made it all the way to eighteen," Zack said, grinning as he snagged another handful of veggies. He didn't really want to spoil his dinner, he'd mostly just wanted the excuse to get close. Not that he'd ever pass up food if given a shot at it. "And then I was barely conscious for the next four years, remember? I missed a bit of that whole 'growing up' process."

In his head he still felt like he was only nineteen or twenty, but he didn't like to point that out to Reeve and Tseng. He was pretty sure both of them already felt a bit like cradle-robbers, getting involved with him, which was ridiculous. Even at eighteen, he'd been mature enough to deal with...

Well, okay. When he'd actually been eighteen, he hadn't been all that mature. But after everything he'd gone through, he'd come out of it pretty adult, he thought.
