Rationalizing only gets you so far...Its a vicious cycle and when you think you are free from it all something kicks up in the thought process that just keeps it going for no reason whatsoever. I think part of it is just where I'm at in life right now compared to my younger friends. I know I shouldn't compare to them cause thats just what they do ( Read more... )

Hi Pi, I still read LJ

Something I've learned throughout life, and especially through dance - Comparing yourself to others is a recipe for unhappiness. It really is.

You have to look at where you started and where you are now, and focus on where you are going. (I know, it's hard to retrain your mind not to think in certain ways!) Only compare yourself to your past self, and where you came from and where you want to be.
