ALA Midwinter, a huge library conference, is going on right now in Philadelphia.  I cracked up over some of the Tweets about it.  Librarian humor - Feel it!  Share it!

Well, I've read three on that list that I know of and 2-3 that I think I may have read but am not sure. (how's that for life changing reading). Beloved did make an impression on me but I never re-read it. Mostly, I've never even heard of many on that list and I swear I've seen a similar list somewhere that doesn't have all of the same books.

If I am not mistaken, I couldn't even sit through watching Brideshead Revisited, much less read it. But, I could also be confusing that with something else.

Should I feel bad that I've read only 4

Well, I don't know about you, but I've given up feeling bad about what I have not read.

Yeah, you're right. I don't really feel bad about it, it's more like the feeling you get at a big buffet when there are so many different things you want to eat but know you only have room for so much.

I agree with G - not going to fee badly about things I haven't read. Or, at the very least, I am going to fight against that feeling. ;)

But yeah, I'd only read one on that list: Crime & Punishment. A great book, and one that I enjoyed. But many on the list I'd never heard of.

I'm surprised you've never read To Kill A Mockingbird?

Missed you today!

I went to Midwinter when it was in Dallas and I thought I'd lose my mind, and that was just in the showroom! Obviously I didn't go to the librarian meetings.

Okay, for a Lit major, I fail miserably at that list. Have only read 6 for sure: To Kill a Mockingbird, *Kindred, Beloved, The Stranger (translated for French class, don't remember any of it), The Bell Jar, and *Life after Life. (*Read on my own rather than class, and both were awesome.

The film for Remains of the Day is one of my all-time faves, but I haven't yet read the book. I think I'll pledge to read that and Mrs. Dalloway this year. Any on the list that you'd like to read?

Yeah, it can be overwhelming, for sure. Although the exhibits are one of the craziest places. Other tweets were recommending a tote bag tax to increase association revenue.

Any on the list that you'd like to read?
Well, now after your comment, I'd like to try Kindred and Life After Life. I'd also like to read Left Hand of Darkness again someday. I've not heard of most of them, either.

Brideshead is one of my favorite books ever! I've read it twice! I've even dropped a copy (accidentally) in the canal in Venice!
