Okay, really quick tut! Not even getting into shading and shizz. *shot*

Coloring Over the Lineart
We're using this image. Aww, Tear looks so cute there with Mieu :D

Alright. I just create a new layer and use a round brush to color where I want to (like this). For coloring lineart, I use either Linear Burn or Multiply. They look diffrent, so it really depends on what look you want. With either of those two blending modes, you can color over black lines and they'll still be black.

Linear Burn

Multiply

Now, since her dress is black, I used Screen and reduced the opacity of the brown layer so that it blended a bit more. With screen, you can color over white and it'll still be white.

For textured areas, such as Mieu, I tend to use Hard Light. It keeps the texture visible, but it also doesn't make it as dark as if I used Linear Burn or Multiply.

Coloring Under the Lineart
We're using this image, this time. Aww, Natalia's pissed at Jade :D *shot*
Set lineart to Linear Burn (this) or Multiply (this!, depending on the look you want.
Make layers under it~! (In between the white background and lineart) Color on those layers, just keeping them at Normal. The advantage to this is you can be as messy as you want and cover it up with other colors.

Notes: I always pick a mode and then color, and then change it as I go. It's easier to see the lines that way.
