I have been thinking about this the past couple of days, trying to formulate what I want to express, and failing. How do I say this without sounding like I am babbling? Let me give it a shot.
Yes, we should strive to have our actions align with our beliefs, when we can. However, sometimes our beliefs don't align with each other. Example (fictional): I may believe that my little pain-in-the-ass-child, while annoying and disruptive, is also helpful, cute, and loving. I, therefore, accept the child for who they are (good and bad). My actions toward that child can be both affectionate and austere, depending on the situation. However, I still love the child.
I guess you can say I feel the same way toward a wedding. In choosing a wedding, while feeling pulled in different directions, I take it for what it is - not because I feel like I have to, but because I WANT to
