Yes... I know... it's been months.

Apart from all the ups and downs in one's life, the reason why I am/have been/will be away from LJ is because I've been really busy since last year, trying to plan the venture of a lifetime, a childhood's dream: creating my own game development company.

This whole thing started when I quit from my previous job, December 2005. I got to know some guys, who knew some other guys, who worked for some other guys, etc, etc, and in the end I was briefly introduced to the whole gamedev industry, and realized that one does not need to be in this or that country in order to work for this industry.

About the same time, a Portuguese venture capital company was created, it's mission: provide a business middleware solution for independent gamedev studios.

By that time I started talking to artists and coders, so that we'de be able to start working on a AAA game.

Well, I don't know if it was because the aim was too high or the venture company decided to work only with small budget projects or even due to different expectations from all those involved in this project, but the fact is that at some point, the results were far from those I had antecipated.

However, I did not give up, and right now I'm still working in this project. I've been contacting some people in the industry, aswell as possible venture capital projects that would allow seed capital to sustain the company in it's early stages of development.

Here's the outcome so far:

* project pre-aproved for 100-150K funding for seed capital, by means of venture capital;
* two business angels willing to fund the project;
* pre-production Game Design Document, aswell as some concept art for a AAA game;
* a chance to work with The Strategery Group - a US based game consulting company - for projects in the US marketplace;
* analysis on concepts and tech solutions for game engine;
* lots of willpower from yours truly :)
* ...

Right now I'm focusing in building a core team for the company. I'm still (as we speak... or read) not able to actually pay anything to anyone, so everyone who'd be interested in joining forces would have to work on good will only (hopefully this will change "soon").

So... all this to say that if you're interested in joining forces with me, I'm interested in working with you no matter where you are in the world/universe/dimension, provided that you fill any of the sets of requirements listed below:
