Heh, it's irritating, isn't it? :\

The only thing I kind of like to say is that I've been "Cumberbatched (for life)" and I don't use it that often. I even don't like "Cumberbitches"...

God, I never called him "Benny" either. It's Benedict. Sometimes Ben, if I really want to express how much I love him ;)

Maybe it's the age issue?

I'll admit, "Cumberbatched" is AWESOME. I lol-ed so hard when I came aross it, and at least the phrase still contains his full last name. Cumberneck, Cumberbooty etc are also okay because it's merely referring to his body.

Ugh yes, "Benny" also sounds highly inappropriate. Is it so hard to just type Benedict, or even Ben? It's basic respect.

I would believe no matter what age you are, you should know better than to make fun of someone's name just because it sounds funny.

I'm just saying it's the only thing I can think of. I find so many teens on tumblr calling him this and that... But when I read about him on LJ it's usually more respectful and people who write that are usually 20+

I dunno, I guess since I'm kinda ticked off about it, I'm seeing it everywhere? I sure hope the 20+ fans are more mature!

Admittedly, I like Benny!Sherlock because it reminds me of Benny from Doctor Who, who had a canon adventure with Mycroft (and technically Sherlock Holmes was at her wedding), thus making this hilarious and obscure loop in my head.

I'm mostly fond of 'Benedict.' It has such a nice sound and I never really hear it.

Well your reasoning is pretty sound. What gets to me what the fact people are using Benny just to sound "cute" and feel, idk, closer to him?

Yeah I'm pretty sure only me and my two other friends get that because we listen to the Benny audios. But that's never made sense to me, trying to feel closer to an actor. You can read and watch all the interviews but you can't really know them at all. Even if they're very honest in them!

I'll own up to calling them Eggs and Martini within certain company
LOLOLOLOL Okay that is hilarious xDD

Yeah, I mean it's one thing to use his name (ie Cumberbatched) as a verb for the LULZ and another to make fun of his name.

(I'm sure he'll forgive you. Better muffins than all those other things people have been calling him.)

IIRC they're mostly over at tumblr, I've seen it pop up over at fandom!secrets as well. But yeah, I'm just complaining about the whole thing in general.

Yeah, I doubt people use that names in a contemptuous or mocking way, but it's kinda irritating and a little bit rude all the same :/

Well, whether or not people use it in mocking way, it's still really rude.
