I can't stand it anymore. In my previous entry, I had said that there was something that made me uncomfortable and I've been trying to avoid it so I can put it behind me. It's still making me uncomfortable and I don't think it will ever leave me alone unless I whine talk about it.

I won't whine though. I just want to voice my discomfort and get it ( Read more... )

For me, it's the fact that it felt like another, "but you know they're not gay, right? it won't happen, you know that, right?" Yes I know. When do we ever get main characters who can be gay and in a relationship and just have it happen without it being the center of the whole show or some subplot of epic angst or something. I hate the reminder that lol no the best you'll get is asexual if you're lucky but no it's probably straight up in here.

Just leave me with my subtext and thinking they're perfect for each other without thinking it's not realistic or whatever. Yeah sure plenty of fic isn't but their relationship isn't based on nothing. They're sort of one of the most famous friendships ever. I watch it because I like their dynamic. I dunno. I am going in circles or something. I just feel whiny that most of my fandoms seem to have this need to do this. I just like seeing happy things.

I just saw that post and hey, I feel you. I don't mind meta discussions when it comes to things like characters development or the plot or whatevers, but this "they're not gay, guys, why do you think they're gay?" gets old really fast. Like you said most slash is a fantasy, in my fanon I may ship them and read fics where they're happily together, but I'm aware that canon differs and they're problably straight/asexual/just friends and when I watch the show I have that in mind. Why can't we enjoy the shows in two different levels and leave it at that? The show itself and the sexy fics, different media for different purposes.
