(This is my final project for a mini-course I took on environmental justice. It is primarily in response to Peter Young/Evasion, Endgame, Crimethinc anarchy and my own experience with punk communities. It's an emotional response in the form of an essay-poem, so each example hasn't been totally thought out and analyzed.)

Have you ever read Pope's verse essays? If you haven't, check out the "Essay on Man" and the "Essay on Criticism." Really heavy stuff. I also didn't know that you were into A//Political. My favorite US peace punk band by far.

i actually didn't know where the quote was from, and couldn't find it when i tried to look it up. i was going to call you, actually, to get the source, but my phone was broken.

god jason people are awful. i put this on facebook in a note and didn't tag anyone, putting the same disclaimer that it was just a sarcastic reaction (this is satire, ps) and not well thought out. some people responded critically, but others just used it as an excuse to rip into me. wtf? sometimes i feel like people are just looking for an excuse to rip into me.

Dea, if you go to myspace/apolitical, the song is called punk is a ghetto and it's the last song on the third track, which is a 7" of the same name. the band was from baltimore and put out against me!'s first 12" back in the day. betcha there are some crusties who don't know THAT tidbit
