I won with an economic victory, because I couldn't be arsed to finish teching out. Some guy tried to join the game after you left, and then your little German colony began attacking me.
For me, it's all about getting production up. I build based entirely on future production. Get your production high enough, and you can do all victory paths simultaneously. I usually don't build much more than four or five cities.
I never should have flipped that damn city. I spent the rest of the game fighting the AI when I could have been safe in my little corner racing Mark to a tech victory. I'm pretty sure I was ahead tech-wise (Atlantis gave me a boost) until that distraction. It could have been you stuck fighting the AI instead.
Live and learn. Fun, fun, fun nonetheless. Next time we have to make Steve pull his head out of the toilet and play with us. One less damnable AI to deal with.
