well, some of this on mok's post, but i am underwhelmed by the new xbox live experience. echoing steve's sentiments, it just seems a lil awkward, but ill get used to it.

however marks call for cable banishment seems premature, at least in my household. looking at mok's instant queue, i can see what a boon it would be if i was starving for 70's cop ( Read more... )

You know the blades are still there if you're pining for them, right? Just hit the guide and you can get all the same places, and the guide actually moves quickly instead of stalling all the time.

As for the movies, well, different strokes for different folks, I guess. It's not like it cost you anything.

Primer's cool. I've noticed they seem to be adding a few every day.

eh, it wasnt as bad as i thought, and its kinda the reverse titanic, fun to see all that money on the screen when it did so poorly. plus, i think hopper's villain's name is deacon...

to mok, yeah its nothing to complain about, i was just hoping for at least... i dunno, a third of my queue to be available. i like the new layout, just takes some getting used to.

i liked how it told me friends were playing civ when i started it up.

and im certainly not knocking rockford :) but the tv i wanted wasnt available: news radio, kids in the hall, muppet show, etc.

mebbe i'll watch stan lee's lightspeed, or a bunch of mark hamill movies i was unaware of :)

another update: a big reason xbox instant is lacking? sony.

apparently quite a few titles are being held by sony's distribution to include as exclusives on a similar rollout from PS3

Yeah, Sony's a big douche. It's my hope, and netflix's stated intent, that they're going to grow selection of the instant watch stuff fairly quickly. Estimates are ranging in the hundreds of thousands of new accounts this week, so maybe that will spur them on.
