Lestat finds himself once more wandering about the mansion this evening, his thoughts having driven him to walk. Perhaps it was his intention to run into the young girl again, perhaps not. Whatever it was he now finds himself standing in her doorway uncertain of whether to retreat or to speak.

It is unnecessary for words to be passed between them. Simply by the sink that he sends to her nose, Claudia recognizes not only that she has company, but who her visitor is. Without moving from her bed, she says in her ringing voice, "Your timing, as usual, is impeccable."

He simply gives her a sarcastic smile and equally sarcastic words, this sort of response more easy to come to him. "Well I do my very best, and all for you dear Claudia."
